Students collaborate and pursue service learning at Louisiana’s only PK-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.
WHAT: Morris Jeff Community School, Louisiana’s only PK-12 International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, presents its 8th Grade International Baccalaureate Community Project Showcase.Eighth graders will present on a chosen humanitarian project that takes action in service to the local community. Students work with each other to accomplish their objectives and learn project management, effective communication, and collaboration as they set out to meet their goals. The Community Project serves as a formative experience to learn by doing and experiencing challenges of global significance.
The Showcase is a marker of growth and development within the Middle Years Programme, which runs from Grades 6-10 at Morris Jeff. During the Showcase, all 8th grade students will be present to share about the projects, what they learned, how they collaborated with others, the impact they created, and how they can expand their reach in the future. This event is a celebrated milestone and valuable experience of a student’s IB education.
